How we make.
We start with the people, not the brief.
We film the people at the center of the subject, and we stay long enough to reach what they can't quite say out loud. Empathy that skips this step shows.
We refuse work that could belong to anyone.
No house style to defend. Each film takes the form it needs — quiet or loud, fiction or documentary — because the only real failure is an audience that leaves.
We light the subject from more than one side.
We question received wisdom, the film, and ourselves. It's how a film earns the right to be believed, and how a well-meant one avoids hurting someone it never meant to hurt.
We make it beautiful, and make the beauty mean something.
Beauty is what holds an audience, and our team brings a feature-film standard to every frame. On the surface it fades; tied to the story, it persuades.

Y A S U H I R O T A M U R A
Yasuhiro Tamura directs cinematic, author-driven visual storytelling across feature films, brand work and content. Alongside client work, he builds long-term movements around film — bringing together the people closest to a subject through production, participatory events and education programs, so that a film becomes the start of something rather than the end.
In 2023 he founded Black Star Label, a non-profit film label producing feature films on social issues that conventional funding won't touch, sustained through fundraising, corporate training and community programs.
Recipient of numerous awards in Japan and internationally. Selected for Forbes Japan's NEXT100.
